What You See
Six windows into your child's world
The Parent Dashboard gives you meaningful visibility that is impossible to get any other way — not through asking, not through checking phones, not through teacher reports. A genuine picture of how your child truly is.
Mood Trend Summary
A weekly line showing whether your child has been feeling positive, neutral, or low over the past 7 days — based on emotional signals detected in conversation, not self-reported by the child.
Topics Discussed
The broad categories your child has been talking about this week — academics, friendships, hobbies, worries, goals, family. No specific conversation content, just the themes.
Emerging Interests
Interests that are appearing with increasing frequency in your child's conversations — useful for the career discovery profile and for knowing what your child is genuinely excited about right now.
Learning Progress
Which subjects your child has practised with Kylo this week, at what depth, and whether confidence on those topics appears to be growing or stalling.
Mascot Evolution Stage
Where Kylo is in their shared journey — Seed, Sprout, Explorer, or Visionary — along with the XP milestone that triggers the next stage. A warm visual indicator of your child's engagement.
Safety Alerts
Any safety flags that were triggered during the week — whether resolved by Kylo or requiring your attention — with a clear action recommendation for each.

Interest Spike Notification
When a new interest appears with unusual frequency, you are notified — 'Your child has been asking a lot about astronomy this week.' This is the career discovery engine surfacing early signals.
Safety Alert (Three Levels)
Watch, Concern, or Urgent — calibrated to the severity of what Kylo detected. Only the alerts that need your attention reach you.
Milestone Celebration
When Kylo evolves to a new stage or your child hits a streak milestone, you are told — because these are genuinely worth celebrating as moments of growth.
FAQ
Parent dashboard questions answered
Can I read the full conversation my child had with Kylo?
No — and this is a deliberate privacy-first design choice. Full transcripts are never visible to parents. What you see are meaningful summaries: mood trends, topic categories, interest signals, and safety flags. This design is based on child psychology research showing that children who know their conversations are being read change what they say — which defeats the entire purpose of having a safe space. You get the intelligence you need without invading the trust your child has placed in Kylo.
How does Kyloen know how my child is feeling if I cannot see transcripts?
Kylo's AI analyses emotional signals in conversation — word choice, sentence patterns, response latency, topic avoidance — without you needing to read every message. It is the same way a skilled counsellor understands a client's emotional state from a session summary without reading a transcript. The summary you receive reflects patterns across hundreds of signals, not just what your child explicitly said.
What if my child is in danger — will I know immediately?
Yes. The safety alert system operates in real-time for serious concerns. If Kylo detects language associated with self-harm, abuse, or immediate danger, the parent is notified immediately — not in the weekly report. The alert includes the nature and urgency of the concern with clear recommended actions. This override of the privacy model is the one area where safety takes absolute precedence.
Can I see which subjects my child studied and how they performed?
Yes. The learning progress section of your dashboard shows which subjects your child engaged with, at what depth (surface questions vs. deep concept exploration), and whether their confidence appears to be growing. You do not see individual question and answer exchanges, but you see a clear picture of where learning is happening and where support might help.
My child is 15. Do they know I have a Parent Dashboard?
Yes — and we recommend you tell them explicitly. Transparency about the parent dashboard's existence actually improves trust, not reduces it, when framed correctly. Older children respond well to: 'I can see that you are doing well and learning. I cannot read your conversations.' This mirrors the dynamic of a healthy parent-child relationship where parents have broad awareness without micromanagement.
Be the parent your child thinks you are
Not watching every message. Not reading every word. Just genuinely knowing how they are — and being there when it matters most.
