The AI companion character is named Kylo by default, though children can name their companion themselves. Kyloen is the platform. Kylo is the companion living inside it.

ChatGPT is a general-purpose AI designed for adults. It has no age verification, no child-specific safety filters, no parent visibility, and no knowledge of your child as an individual. Kyloen is purpose-built for children with age-adaptive interfaces, strict content safety, a Parent Dashboard, DPDP compliance with parental consent flows, curriculum alignment with CBSE and ICSE, and a mascot companion that grows with your child. They are fundamentally different products for fundamentally different users.

What age groups does Kyloen support?

Ages 8–11 (The Builder) gets gamified learning with XP bars and badges. Ages 12–14 (The Thinker) gets real conversations without condescension. Ages 15–18 (The Visionary) gets career-focused guidance with near-adult respect.

Can my child name the AI companion?

Yes. Children can give Kylo a personalised name that the companion will use in all conversations. This name is stored in their profile. If your child names their companion Max, Kyloen will refer to the companion as Max in all interactions.

Is Kyloen available in India's regional languages?

Accepted Answer

Kyloen currently supports English and Hinglish. The Hinglish capability uses tum/tumhe — not tu/tujhe — reflecting the respectful but warm tone appropriate for a companion relationship. Support for Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Marathi is on our product roadmap for 2026.

Yes. Kyloen is built to comply with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP). We collect verifiable parental consent before any child profile is created. Kyloen's safety layer blocks 35+ categories of harmful content including adult content, graphic violence, self-harm content, suicide-related content, drug glorification, radicalization content, hate speech, and content inappropriate for the child's age group. This filtering cannot be bypassed through prompt manipulation.

Who processes my child's data and where is it stored?

Kyloen stores all primary data in India using Supabase. When your child sends a message, it is processed by our AI technology partner (USA-based) to generate a response. Our AI partner does not retain conversation data after generating the response, and does not use it for AI training. All other processing happens within India.

Kyloen has a crisis detection and response protocol for situations where a child mentions self-harm, abuse, or severe distress. When triggered, Kylo responds with age-appropriate empathy and safety resources, and the parent receives an immediate alert through the Parent Dashboard.

Can parents see my child's full conversation history?

Accepted Answer

Parents access the Parent Dashboard which shows mood trends, topic summaries, learning milestones, and safety flags — but not full conversation transcripts. This is intentional. Children who know every word is monitored stop being honest with Kylo, which defeats the purpose of having a trusted companion.

Kylo uses the Socratic method — asking guiding questions rather than giving direct answers — to help students reach understanding themselves. Kyloen's safety curriculum covers good touch and bad touch, online safety and privacy, cyberbullying, safe internet use, recognising manipulative behaviour, mental health awareness, and age-appropriate consent education. These topics are taught through natural conversation and stories.

Does Kyloen replace a human tutor?

No. Kyloen supplements human teachers and tutors. It is available at 11 pm when a student is stuck on a problem, available for the fifteenth explanation of the same concept without impatience, and available for conversations that are not quite academic but not quite personal either.

Kyloen covers both CBSE and ICSE boards from Class 1 to Class 12. For CBSE, all major subjects are aligned with the NCERT textbook structure. For ICSE, subjects follow the CISCE curriculum.

You can cancel at any time from your Parent Dashboard. Your subscription ends at the close of the current billing period — no cancellation fees.
